I’m Taking a Little Break

I’m going to take a little break for a while. I’m not actually quitting; I just think that I’m not really coming up with anything quality lately. I’m struggling to come up with ideas and compared to that quality of posts I read on here, mine are just not up to scratch.
I’ve been exhausted lately also. I haven’t been able to keep up with you guys as much as I like so I just said I would let you all know that I’m going to take a break. I love blogging and I’ve met some wonderful people here, but you guys deserve more than some half-assed attempt at a blog post and lately, that’s all I’ve been doing really. I’ve been playing around with drafts for days now…and NOTHING.

I love knowing that you guys like my posts or that I can make someone laugh, but I just haven’t been in a good head space lately. I’ve been in poor health, and work has been extremely stressful. My way to deal with stress has always been through the use of humour; but even that hasn’t been working for me. I just feel a little empty at the moment, and inspiration is just not coming to me.

I hope you guys understand. I don’t want to delete this blog because I’ve put too much work into it and I’ve gotten too much support off all of you. I’m just taking a few days (or maybe more) to find my way again. If I was younger, I’d probably go backpacking in Outer Mongolia or some shit, but I’m probably just going to hibernate and eat pop tarts instead.

Thank you for your continued love and support of my randomness. Think of my like the Terminator: I own it when I wear sunglasses and I’ll be back.

We love you Jane; and can’t wait to have you back! Hope all goes well, and hey, never cross “backpacking in Outer Mongolia or some shit” off of the list.. 🙂
(I almost typed never say never, but feared the biebs reference would be too much.)
    😀

Take care of yourself Janey. You have no obligations here and we all look forward to your return whenever you want to write. I know I’ll be watching. Sometimes it just doesn’t come. That’s when I post a photo and don’t try to write too much. Hope you feel more clear headed soon. I’ll just go back and read your old posts if I need a laugh. 😉 Hang in there.
Pop Tarts eh? Why don’t you kick it up a notch and go for Pinwheels. That would keep you in a stupor for awhile.

Thank you! Such a sweet and considerate comment 😀
Pinwheels look delicious, I don’t think we have them in Ireland (I had to google) but they look very sugary. Which right now, would be a good thing 🙂 Thank you for a lovely comment.

Too bad about the pinwheels. That is my one weird, bad, off the wall indulgence and haven’t had in years. I gotta tell you it’s because when I was married to my ex with three small kids we were always so broke due to his running up credit that I never had a penny for special treats like store bought cookies. When I left him and had to go on food stamps for a few months, it was like getting a raise and we actually ate like human beings. That was the first special cookie I bought for us/me and I always remember them as heavenly treats. It’s the little things….;)

Take a break, refresh yourself, and pick it back up when you’re ready. Don’t eat too many pop tarts.

Oh, and don’t knock the alleged “half assed attempts at blog posts.” Sometimes those turn into the best ones of all 🙂

I have been enjoying my little break. Not so much from my blog, just from my hectic life. And you’re right, my half assed attempts often end up being the most popular ones, for whatever reason.
      Thanks for commenting 🙂

JAAAAAAANNNNNNNNEEEEEEYYYYYY! I hope that you’re back now! Jules and I were getting desperate and were contemplating getting fall down drunk and singing outside of your window until you got back on line.:-)

      • janeybgood says:

I would have loved that! I’m going to post tonight because I’ve been going slightly insaaane 🙂 but you are both to drunkenly sing to me whenever you like 😀

      • weight2lose2013 says:

I look forward to it! (your post and singing while intoxicated in front of your window). 🙂

    Take care, beautiful 🙂

This reminds me (and it’s because of your BB post) of Big Brother contestants who decide to leave the house.

Blogging can make us very self-conscious sometimes, just as being on BB can, and sometimes that self-consciousness wears away at our enthusiasm for doing what we were doing. As can offline life when it gets stressful.

If you want to keep blogging but share a different side of yourself, there’s always the option of creating another blog. You can link it to this one (or not), make them a light and a dark side blogs. Just a thought inspired by my reader which went glitchy the other day and kept redirecting me to the ‘create another blog’ page.

Quite a few bloggers whom I follow seem to be taking breaks, I’m sort of taking one too (at least my mind is)… there is something in the air. A heaviness which humour does not dispel. It’ll clear on its own, like fog on a field.

    Best wishes 🙂

That’s actually such a good idea! I feel like Jekyll and Hyde on here sometimes. I can be in a great mood and then suddenly I’m writing something negative. It’s all therapeutic I suppose.

I’m starting to feel better. The Big Brother comparison is very apt. Sometimes I feel over exposed. I have been going through a tough time in my personal life also and I just haven’t been in the right humour.

As always, thank you for your comment, friend 🙂
